This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, register for events, or interact with our services.

Information We Collect

• Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, company name, and job title.
• Registration Data: Tournament registration details, player information, shirt sizes, handicaps, and pairing requests.
• Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers.
• Communications: Messages you send through our contact forms, and records of SMS/text message interactions.
• Usage Data: Browser type, IP address, pages visited, and interaction patterns on our website.

How We Use Your Information

• Process tournament registrations and payments.
• Send event confirmations, check-in reminders, and scoring links.
• Communicate tournament updates, schedule changes, and logistics via email and/or SMS.
• Respond to inquiries and provide customer support.
• Improve our website and event experience.

Mobile App

The GolfTracker mobile app (used to follow GolfTracker events) collects the following, and only while you use the app:

• Location (while in use): Used solely to calculate live yardage from your position to the front, center, and back of the green during play. Your location is used on your device to compute those distances and is never stored on our servers, tracked in the background, or shared with anyone. Declining location permission disables yardage only; the rest of the app works normally.
• Camera: Used only by event staff to scan player check-in QR codes. Images are processed on-device to read the code and are never saved or transmitted.
• Email address: Entered by you to look up your registration, team, or scorecard for an event.
• Notification token: If you allow notifications, a device token is stored so we can send event-day alerts (tee-time changes, scoring reminders). Revoking the permission stops this.
• On-device storage: The app saves your joined event and unsent scores locally so it keeps working without signal on the course. This data stays on your device and syncs when you reconnect. Deleting the app removes it.

The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell personal information.

SMS / Text Messaging

When you opt in to receive text messages from GolfTracker during registration, you consent to receive SMS messages related to event updates, registration confirmations, check-in reminders, scoring links, and tournament logistics.

Message Types

Messages may include: registration confirmations, check-in reminders, live scoring links, roster completion reminders, schedule updates, and event-day logistics.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on tournament schedule and your registration status. You may receive up to 10 messages per event cycle. Msg & data rates may apply.

Opt-Out

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a one-time confirmation message and no further texts will be sent. You may also text HELP for assistance.

No Sharing of SMS Data

SMS opt-in consent and mobile phone numbers collected through our registration process are NOT sold, rented, shared, or disclosed to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Your mobile number is used solely for the purpose of delivering tournament-related communications that you have explicitly consented to receive.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share limited necessary details with vendors involved in event logistics (e.g., course management, catering, registration systems), strictly for event-related purposes.

Your Choices

You can opt out of promotional emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of our emails. However, we may still contact you regarding essential event-related communications.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. SMS opt-out records are retained indefinitely to ensure compliance.
