How the fee actually works
Golf tournament platforms almost always price as a percentage of what you collect, so the cost scales with your success: the better the event does, the more the platform takes. A few add a flat per-player charge on top of the percentage, which is the part that is easy to miss when comparing — on a 144-player field, $4 a player is $576 before the percentage is counted.
GolfTracker's free Starter plan charges a 3.5% platform fee and nothing else. There is no monthly cost, no setup fee and no per-player charge, and most organizers pass the fee to the registrant at checkout, which is why the plan is free to start. Pro, at $299 per event, drops the rate to 2% — worth it once your field is large enough that the saving covers the $299.
Whatever you use, the arithmetic is the same: multiply your field size by your ticket price, then subtract the platform's cut. That is all this tool does — on your numbers rather than an illustrative example.
