Playing a course we've never seen
This is the part most score trackers make you do by hand. Type the name and the town and GolfTracker goes and reads the course's own scorecard.

Questions golfers ask
Is GolfTracker free for golfers?
Yes, and there is no paid golfer tier to upgrade to. Creating an account, saving rounds, scoring hole by hole, using the GPS yardages and inviting the people you play with are all free, and no card is asked for. GolfTracker earns its money from the clubs and charities that run tournaments on it, not from the golfers who play in them.
Do I need an account to track my golf scores?
You need an email address and nothing else. There is no password to invent: you enter your email, tap the link we send, and you are in. If you have played in a GolfTracker tournament, signing in with the address you registered with brings that round with you.
Can I track a course that isn't in the app yet?
Yes. Type the course name and its town, and GolfTracker finds that course's own published scorecard, reads the par and stroke index for every hole, and shows it to you to confirm. Once confirmed the course is saved, so the next golfer who plays there gets it instantly.
Does golf score tracking work without a phone signal?
Yes. Scores are entered and stored on your phone and sync by themselves when you get a signal back, so a hole with no bars is scored exactly like any other. This is the same offline engine that runs live tournament scoring.
Can I track putts, fairways and greens in regulation?
Yes, and all of them are optional on every hole. Putts, fairways hit, greens in regulation and penalty strokes each take one tap behind a single disclosure, and a round of scores alone is still a complete round.
Can my playing partners see my scores?
Only if you invite them to that round. Tap Invite and GolfTracker gives you a link to text your group; everyone who joins keeps their own scorecard in their own history, and you all see one shared leaderboard for that round. Nothing else in your history is visible to them.
Does GolfTracker calculate a handicap?
Not yet. A handicap needs each tee's course rating and slope, which GolfTracker does not hold today, so no estimate is offered rather than a wrong one. Rounds you save now are kept in full — every hole, every score — so they count toward it when it lands.
What happens to my scores if I stop using GolfTracker?
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app or from your rounds page, and it is erased rather than deactivated. Rounds other people played in a round you shared stay theirs.
